Dr. Sellers received his Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Tennessee, Master of Taxation from the University of Denver and his Doctor of Business Administration degree from the University of Memphis. He has authored articles for numerous professional journals such as the Journal of Accountancy, the Value Examiner, the Business Valuation Review and Valuation Strategies, as well as academic journals including Accounting Horizons, the Journal of the American Taxation Association, the National Tax Journal, and Research in Accounting Regulation. He coauthored Taxes and Value: The Ongoing Research and Analysis Relating to the S Corporation Valuation Puzzle and coauthored the chapter on the valuation of pass-through entities in Shannon Pratt’s 6th Edition of Valuing a Business.

Dr. Sellers is a CPA/ABV with thirty years of business valuation experience. He specializes in the valuation of community banks and has prepared more than 500 business valuations for income and estate tax purposes, ESOP administration, buy-sell agreements and mergers and acquisitions (fairness opinions). He serves on the editorial boards of several valuation journals and served two terms on the AICPA’s ABV Credential Committee.
